What Is IATF 16949?
IATF 16949, formerly known as ISO/TS 16949, is a technical specification of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) with the purpose of developing a quality system that can be continuously improved in the vehicle supply chain and in the depot, focusing on preventing defects, reducing variation and waste.

This standard is based on the ISO 9000 standard, the first edition was issued in June 1999 under the name ISO/TS 16949:1999. This standard was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and ISO’s “technical committees”, mainly to harmonize the regulations of the quality management system of various countries.
